Dogs are known for their loving and loyal ways, but they can also teach a few lessons in love as well. Taking a cue from some of your dog's habits may show you a few new ways to bond with your partner.
Run to the Door to Greet Someone
Your puppy scampers to the door as soon as it hears someone come home. It doesn't hesitate to show how happy it is to see their master. It immediately runs to see who's there and smothers the person with kisses.
Too often, partners become complacent when they've been together for a long time. So take a clue from your puppy, and show your guy or gal how glad you are to see them! Greet them at the door with a huge hug and kiss. Show them they are appreciated and an important part of your life.
Cherish Your Special Gifts
Your puppy runs to bury it's bones, treats, or really special toys. It knows when it has something good and doesn't want anyone else to get it. Use this example to set apart the special things in your life as well.
Special gifts don't have to be physical. While it's nice to receive flowers or candy, gifts like a back rub, sympathetic ear, or completion of a household chore can be equally as lovely. Treat every offering from your partner as extraordinary.
Smother Your Loved One With Kisses
Your puppy doesn't hesitate to show affection. So take a cue from that and always let your partner know how much you care about him or her. Tell them every chance you get. Show your partner that they mean a lot to you by doing nice things for them. Make a special dinner or surprise them with a small token of affection.
Play Time is the Best Time
Your puppy plays every chance it gets, so why not let that spirit of fun carry over to your relationship? Find activities the two of you can do together and focus on just having fun. The bond you have with your partner will deepen if you are able to laugh together.
There is Never a Bad Time to Take a Nap
Puppies may play hard, but they don't hesitate to nap, either. In fact, they spend a considerable amount of their day sleeping!
While people don't have the luxury to sleep all day, they do have the ability to take some much needed down time. What better way to bond with your sweetie than by taking a short nap on a weekend? You can cuddle up and get close for an afternoon snooze, or just huddle together while watching your favorite show on television.
Your puppy is open and loving, and doesn't hesitate to show it. This example can be an important one when it comes to making a partnership stronger. Letting your mate know you care about him or her can make all the difference in your relationship.
